๐Ÿ””**NEWSFLASH** ๐Ÿ””

Overnight, rebels blockaded the entrance to Murdoch Print factories in London and Liverpool, meaning that there will be no Sun, Mail, Telegraph, Standard or Times distributed this morning.

One of these incredible rebels is a member of Animal Rebellion, so please do support this action and the arrestees as they #freethetruth
๐Ÿ•ธ Everyone meet at Parliament Square at 3pm for todayโ€™s action. The exact location will be announced shortly after on the broadcast ๐Ÿ•ธ

Unfortunately we've hit some technical difficulties making today's action happen in the way it was planned. The police response has been harder than expected but we're not giving in just yet! โœŠ We've got rebels busy behind the scenes executing plan B but you may need to sit tight for a bit longer. Stay strong and stay at Parliament Square. We'll have another update for you as soon as we can.

Sadly it's been too difficult to execute the Web of Lies action. There is too much police presence and suspicion around the planned location. We want to make it happen in some form at some point before the end of rebellion, so keep your eyes on the broadcast for updates on that.

The good news is that Dizraeli and Arctic Fox will be performing at St James' Park at 5pm, so we can continue to enjoy the atmosphere and continue to support XR and HS2 Rebellion in their actions.

Stay strong rebels! โœŠ๐Ÿ“ข

Morning rebels! ๐Ÿ‘‹โ˜€๏ธIt's day six of the rebellion and although yesterday might not have gone to plan, we're not giving in just yet! ๐Ÿ’ช

Today we're remembering the beautiful creatures in our oceans whose lives and habitats are under threat of destruction ๐Ÿš๐ŸŸ๐Ÿฆ€๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿก๐Ÿฆˆ We'll be joining with XR for the Marine Extinction March - come to Parliament Square for 2.30pm and expect all the sights and sounds of the sea! ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠ

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ We've got a really exciting update about tomorrow's action. It will be called 'Blood On Their Hands' ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿคš and will have a really cool activity that everyone can take part in. Come to Parliament Square for 10am!

We're also encouraging Affinity Groups to come up with their own actions around this theme that they can carry out during the day tomorrow. AGs, this is your chance to step up and take action! ๐Ÿ’ช

We are aware that over the past few days police have escalated their response and that rebels who aren't necessarily prepared for arrest are being arrested. This is a reminder that no action is 100% risk free and that we cannot guarantee you will not be arrested.

However, there are several steps we can take to be better educated and better prepared for a more aggressive police response.

Know Your Rights: It's important to know your rights before going on any protest. Please watch this short 2 minute video for the basics:

Witnessing an Arrest: If you see someone being arrested, you may have a crucial role in making sure we know who has been arrested and where they have been taken. Please watch this short video on witnessing an arrest:

At actions: ALWAYS carry a bust card (even if you don't plan on being arrested). You will have the opportunity to call a free solicitor listed on the card, and you should be offered a second phone call. Make this the XR back office, whose number is also listed on the card, who will log the details of arrest and let us know where you are. Please also let them know you're from Animal Rebellion so that we're informed of where you are.

We have had reports of police stations refusing to let you call back office, so we recommend that you also make note of 07947720648, which you can call instead and ask for Billy. Please note this number on your bust card, or on your arm with a sharpie.

Remember to practice good solidarity and look after each other. We know that the police's intimidation tactics can be scary, but by preparing ourselves we can stay informed, stay safe and stay strong ๐Ÿ’ช

With the police response at camp escalating and the uncertainty around our future in Brockwell Park we will be holding an emergency people's assembly to decide together whether we should stay or go, and what our options are.

7pm in the field by camp. Please join if you are able.

We have decided to stay put until the police ask us to move, hopefully not before tomorrow evening, and then move to a second site tomorrow which we had arranged before Rebellion as a backup.

There are a handful of people who aren't comfortable staying the night at camp and we're trying to sort out alternative accommodation for them. If you can offer space for them tonight, or are in need of a place tonight, please get in touch.

Overnight, 2 rebels have climbed onto the roof and 6 have locked on to coffins and tubes outside the gates of Tulips Slaughterhouse in Manchester, blockading the entrance โœŠโšฐ๏ธ Any rebels in the area please go and show your support!

A reminder that for today's Blood on Their Hands action please go to Parliament Square for 10am. Affinity Groups, you're needed! We want you to plan and execute an action around this theme. We have plenty of red paint ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿ˜‰ AGs, it's your time to shine! โ˜€๏ธ

Due to police response in Lambeth, we have just moved the campsite to a piece of land in Dalston where we are currently setting up. For those camping, head back to Brockwell Park to get your belongings then come join us at Madinah Road, E8 1PF. If youโ€™re out at an action or elsewhere today, feel free to finish up then join us when youโ€™re ready at the new campsite for an evening of making our new space beautiful, trainings, hanging out and planning the final stint of the Rebellion!

When you arrive, please post in the discussion chat and someone will get you and let you in๐Ÿ”ฅ

See you soon โœŠโœŠ
Accom update

The land we have is slightly less secure and safe than we would like. Because of that, we would recommend they first head to the XR office as a better option and if that space is full, then people can come to second campsite in Dalston.

Location for XR office:
5 Sidworth St., E8 3SD

Again, message on Discussion chat if you want to be let in!

Today we woke up to the news that rebels had locked on to coffins and tubes, blockading the entrance to Tulips Slaughterhouse, the largest slaughterhouse in the UK. We arrived early and demanded they cancel all their trucks for the day. No animals were killed at this facility today! ๐Ÿ™โœŠ

The first version of our app is now available on the App Store and Playstore! It has loads of cool features like Animal Rebellion trainings, resources and events. Search for GoRebel Or Animal Rebellion! ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Tomorrow we will be delivering an open letter to the government to shine a light on animal agriculture as a key driver in the emergence of deadly diseases. Meet at Victoria Embankment Gardens at 8.30am and expect a spectacle! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ”ฅ

This morning, Animal Rebellion delivered an open letter to Downing Street โœ‰๏ธ๐Ÿ“ญ The letter demands that the UK Government tell the truth about Covid-19's origins - that it came from animal farming - and that they must lead a transition to a plant-based food system in order to prevent further global pandemics ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅ”

Now it's your chance to shine! Email the letter to your local MPs and demand from them the necessary change to prevent more pandemics in the future ๐Ÿ˜ท to avoid complete climate breakdown ๐ŸŒŽ and to stand up for the animals that are exploited! ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ“

The open letter is now live on our website. Please copy and paste to send to your MP (don't forget to address them and not Boris Johnson ๐Ÿ™ˆ):

You can find your MP's email through this directory:

Love & Rage โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™

Thank you to all you awesome rebels who made this morning's action happen! ๐Ÿ’š We delivered an open letter to Boris Johnson's front door calling on the government to recognise the effects that animal agriculture has on zoonotic diseases, and to end animal farming to prevent future pandemics! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Gandhi believed that disruptive action must be complimented by a constructive programme, and so today we'll be giving back by organising a litter pick ๐ŸŒปPlease join us at the northeast corner of Mile End Park at 12pm, and bring gloves! ๐ŸŒž

We have awesome affinity groups working behind the scenes putting together actions today, so keep your eyes peeled ๐Ÿ‘€ for updates today! A reminder that if arrested please contact XR back office, whose number is on your bust card, but if you're not able to please call 07947720648 to let us know where you are.

Because of the nature of the police response to previous actions, we've had to rethink our plans for tomorrow's DEFRA Street Party, and want you to be involved in the way we do this. Please join us at 3pm at the XR office for a People's Assembly to have your voice heard! ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿค

We'll follow this with a DNA training at 6pm, and we'll then chill out together before our last day of Rebellion! โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽ‰

Today started bright and early with our Letter for the Future action, as we delivered our open letter to Downing St โœ‰๏ธ We got some great coverage in Sky News, Reuters and Plant-Based News ๐Ÿ˜

Tomorrow we'll be heading to DEFRA for a street party as we end the rebellion with a bang ๐ŸŽ‰ Meet at St. John's Gardens, SW1P 4DA at 9am tomorrow.

The police have taken away our PA system so we're asking rebels to bring instruments, speakers and anything they can think to make this party bounce! ๐ŸŽป๐ŸŽท๐ŸŽธ

The government's stuck in the past so dress in your best retro clothes and let's have a party to show we're not scared and we won't stop until they move into the future โšก๐Ÿ”ฎ

If you're interested in helping make the next rebellion happen, after the action we'll head back to the XR office for a rebellion debrief and a 'How to get involved' session, where you can find out more from our teams and co-ordinators ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ“‘

We'll then get together for a post-rebellion social and let our hair down! ๐ŸŽˆ We'll have food, but feel free to bring anything else you'd like. A reminder that we don't bring alcohol or drugs to Animal Rebellion spaces, but we may head out for a drink together afterwards ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿพ

Today may be the last day of planned actions but the rebellion is far from over! โœŠ We'll be taking the party to DEFRA as we show the government is stuck in the past and must immediately transition to a just and sustainable plant-based food system ๐ŸŒผ

As predicted, the government have become more authoritarian as we head towards climate catastrophe. This means we have to come back bigger and stronger! ๐Ÿ˜

It's important that people take some time to rest and recover after rebellion ๐ŸŒป and we'll start the process of growing the movement over the next few weeks to prepare for the next rebellion! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Please join us today for a Rebellion debrief and find out how to continue your involvement with Animal Rebellion from 3pm. If you are unable to attend in person, please fill out the volunteer form and we will be in contact with you shortly to integrate you into a team.

9am - Meet at St. Johns's Gardens for the DEFRA Street Party ๐ŸŽ‰
3pm - Rebellion Debrief & 'How To Get Involved with Animal Rebellion' at XR Office ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ XR office address is 5 Sidworth St, E8 3SD
6pm - Post-Rebellion Social ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ
Reminder for debrief and social ๐Ÿ’ฃ

3pm at XR office, 5 Sidworth Street, E8 3SD

Please come for a debrief of how rebellion went, what we can do differently next time and enjoy time with some fellow animal rebels! ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿฆ”

The rebellion might be over for London, but for those of you who just can't get enough we will be heading to the HS2 camp at Denham tomorrow! We will be meeting at Kings cross St Pancras station at 8.45am to take the metropolitan line towards Uxbridge, meet on the platform! Get in touch with Celina for more info! โญ

Well, that's all folks ๐Ÿ˜ข What an incredible nine days we had, with amazing actions, ups and downs and hopefully lifelong connections made. Here's just a few things we've been up to:

โญ We marched from Smithfields Market to Parliament to demand justice for the animals and a transition to a just and sustainable plant-based food system
โญ We demanded that the media tell the truth about the catastrophic effects of animal agriculture on the environment
โญ We blocked the road outside the Department for Health with a pink slaughterhouse truck to raise awareness of the link between animal farming and zoonotic pandemics
โญ We then took the rebellion to Barclay's, demanding that the banks divest from destructive animal farming industries
โญ We joined with XR and Ocean Rebellion for the Marine Extinction March to bring attention to the extinction of the beautiful creatures who live in our seas
โญ We blocked the entrance to Pilgrim's Pride (formerly Tulips) slaughterhouse near Manchester, shutting the facility down for the day and saving all of the lives which would have been lost there
โญ We delivered an open letter to the government, calling on them to recognise the effects of animal agriculture on the spread of zoonotic diseases
โญ We ended rebellion with a party at DEFRA to demand that they end subsidies for animal farming and transition to a just and sustainable plant-based food system!

And that's just the beginning!

We're going to keep growing, keep building our movement and keep rebelling for our beautiful planet and all life on it ๐ŸŒ You've all put so much time and energy into making this rebellion so incredible and inspirational, and we can't wait to see you at the next one. You guys rock! ๐ŸŒ โšก

Lots of love from Animal Rebellion ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’š
