The Egyptian-British archaeological mission, affiliated with the University of Cambridge and operating in the Tell al-Amarna antiquities area in Minya Governorate, uncovered a burial containing a group of golden jewellery, during excavation work in the Northern Cemetery.
The mission has been working in the Northern Cemetery since 2010. It researches and studies the social and economic status of the cityβs residents at Tell al-Amarna, the capital of Egypt during the reign of King Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV).

Egypt succeeded in enlisting the festivals related to the journey of the Holy Family in Egypt on the UNESCO intangible heritage list.
This was announced by the International Intergovernmental Committee of the Organisation for the Safeguarding of Intangible Culture Heritage during its 17th session on November 30th held in Rabat, Morocco.
These celebrations include hymns, foods, and crafts, related to the Holy familyβs route. It also includes the Holy Family's entry into Egypt on the 1st of June, the celebrations in Kom Maria in Minya in February, and the Feast of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in August.

The SCA archaeological mission, working at Tell Al-Deir in Damietta, has uncovered a group of 20 tombs dated to the Late Period.
The discovered tombs varied from mudbrick structures to simple burial pits, which date to the 26th Dynasty.
The burials included gold sheets covering the deceased, in the shape of various deities, in addition to amulets and funerary equipment.
