Wife of Nakhtmin
One of the most elegantly sculptured women figures from ancient Egypt, wearing a transparent garment of fine, pleated linen and a wig with a band of petals with a blooming lotus flower in the center.
In her left hand she holds a menat necklace, which is associated with the goddess Hathor. On the back in Hieroglyphs the titles of her husband General Nakhtmin are engraved as it was originally a statue of the couple.
New Kingdom, late 18th Dynasty, ca. 1353-1292 BC. Now in the Sharm El Sheikh Museum.

Dr.Zahi Hawas | Such an amazing exhibition "Ramses II and the Pharaohs' Gold" currently held in Houston Museum of Natural Sciences in Houston, TX. I had a busy day of TV appearances and signing my books, and of course meeting many children who love ancient Egypt, which is always one of the best highlights!
I highly encourage you all to go visit the touring exhibition, which showcases 181 unique objects, and will remain in Houston until March 6th, 2022.

• هى بحـيرة طولهـا ٨٠ م وعرضها ٤٠ م ، وتُوجد فى قلب معابـد الكرنك بالأقصـر ، وكان الملـوك وكهـنة المعـبد فى العصـور القديمة يستخدمونها للاغتسـال والتطهر قبيل ممارسـة الطقوس الدينية.
• وتُعتبر هـذه البحـيرة المقدسـة من أكثر أسرار مصر القديمة غموضا ، فهى لا تجف أبدا بل إن مستواها يظل ثابتا دائما طوال العام ، كما أن مياهها لا تأسـن مطلقا وإنما تتجدد تلقائيا باستمرار رغم بعدها بمسافة كبيرة عن نهر النيل.
• تم حفرها فى زمن الملك تحتمس الثالث ( ١٤٨٦ - ١٤٣٦ ق.م. ) وكان يحيط بها سور ضخـم (ولكنه تهدم بمرور الزمن) ، ويُوجـد لها مدخلان أحدهما يقع فى الجهة الشرقية والثانى فى الجهـة الغربية ، وفى كل جهـة تُوجـد سـلالم حجريـة تسـاعد على النزول إلى المياه والخروج منها.

• In ancient times the kings and priests of the temple used its water to wash and cleanse before the practice of religious rites.
