In celebration of International Museum Day, corresponding to May 18 of each year, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization will conduct free guided tours for special needs and Egyptian visitors.Additionally, a number of students from the Digital Egypt Initiative will create a live ‘augmented reality’ experience for visitors, for a selection of artefacts displayed in the museum.

Ankh amulets found in the tomb of King Amenhotep II (1427-1400 BC), Eighteenth Dynasty, New Kingdom.The Ankh symbol was one of the sacred ones in Ancient Egypt, which symbolized life and its resurrection.The Ankh symbol got its name from the Ancient Egyptian word meaning Life.Ankh amulets were made of gold, wood, or faience, which is the material of the displayed Ankh.Faience was a material consisting of an inner layer of quartz, silica, and natron, and an outer green or blue glazed layer glazed, and the craftsman used pottery or gypsum molds to shape it.Faience was used in many creations, such as walls tiles, vessels, jewelry, amulets, and statuettes.

"Kemet" graduation project by students of the Department of Specialized Translation in Spanish, Cairo University To respond to the claims of the "Afrocentric movement" about the origins of the ancient Egyptians and the falsification of history, in addition to revitalizing tourism in Egypt and introducing its different types.We have translated the project into three languages, Spanish, English and Arabic.
