Saint Girgis Church,One of the most beautiful churches of the Roman era, established in 684 AD.The Church of St. George or the Church of St. George in the Complex of Religions in Old Cairo is the only round church in Egypt. It was built in the tenth century on top of the Roman tower in the Babylon Fortress. The church is linked to the Monastery of St. George.The Church is today located infront of Mar-Girgis Metro Station in Cairo, Egypt.

Therefore, we invite you at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization to participate and join us on Tuesday, 7-February-2023, at 10:30 am in a live workshop entitled “Paintings of Wood Veneer”.The workshop introduces the basics of marquetry art by learning how to cover wooden structures with a cover consisting of several wooden veneers, integrating these veneers in an aesthetic and decorative way, as well as using several veneers overlapping to form artistic paintings, based on the raw natural colors of wood.To join us, please register at the following link.

Two teams from Ludwig Maximilian and Tübingen Universities in Germany and the National Research Center in Cairo identifed the nature of mummification materials in ancient Egypt.
This is thanks to analyzing organic remains found inside mummification workshop's utensils discovered in 2018 by the Egyptian-German mission headed by the late Dr. Ramadan Hussein in Saqqara.
The incredible discovery made it to the scientific journal at Nature.
