Detail of a life-size statue of King Tutankhamun that was found in his tomb (KV62) at the Valley of the Kings. He reigned circa 1336-1327 BCE under the 18th Dynasty. The king is shown wearing a flat-topped crown with a uraeus, and a simple linen tunic. The sculpture is carved of wood, covered in gesso and then painted.
This work is now temporarily housed in the Wood Laboratory at the Conservation Center of the under-construction Grand Egyptian Museum, Giza, Egypt. It will be displayed with the rest of Tutankhamun's treasures in the museum when it opens its doors to visitors.

This paint box still preserves its original cakes of pigment: one cake each of red (red ocher), blue (Egyptian blue), green (a mixture of Egyptian blue, yellow ocher, and orpiment) and two of black (carbon black, from charcoal). It belonged to Amenemope, who was vizier, or prime minister, under Amenhotep II. Amenemope probably used his paint box for recreation.

يعتبر كشف مقبرة سقارة في ٢٠٢٠ والتي عُثر عليها داخل آبار الدفن الموجودة بمنطقة آثار سقارة، من أهم الاكتشافات الحديثة، حيث شمل الكشف ٥٩ تابوتاً خشبيًا، بالإضافة إلى العشرات من التماثيل، والتمائم، واللقى الأثرية التي يعود تاريخها لـ2600 عام وجميعهم بحالة ممتازة.
