The diminutive but exquisite figure of Queen Nefertari stands by the leg of the colossal statue of her husband, Ramesses II (also Ramses, Rameses, Ramesses the Great and Usermaatre-setpenre). The statue is carved from red granite. Nefertari wears the solar disk and cow horns associated with the goddess Hathor. This statue is located on the south side of the Court of Ramesses II. Luxor temple was dedicated to the god Amun (also Amun-Re). The temple was called the Southern Opet or aEPlace of Seclusionaa."
