Had the pleasure of staying at Kirkandrews Tower on the banks of the Esk. A stronghold of the Graham family.
The Grahams were one of the most notorious and ruthless of the border families, rivalled only by the Armstrongs.
It was said that anything that could be lifted by a man would be stolen by these people. The family even stole fish, building salmon traps to divert them into their private ponds and stop them swimming up river and into Scotland.
