Never lose your inner strength
-----
Amma addressed her children through a Webcast: “Amma knows many of her children are very sad and they are going through a lot of challenges in their day-to-day life. Some of them might have lost their job. Some of them are going through health issues. They are people who are unable to participate in the weddings and other functions of their near and dear ones. Some others are unable to attend funerals of near and dear ones. Many of my children are going through such challenging situations. But we should never lose our inner strength. We should maintain our faith, and we should never loosen our grip on the lotus feet of the divine.”

May the sorrows of old age melt in the light of youth’s love

Understand the hearts of your elderly parents and behave accordingly. May the pain of their old age melt away to nothing in the light of your love. No greater grace comes from anything else.

7 Steps for a Joyful Life - Amma's Birthday Message

Let Amma list out a few points that we all should pay attention to.
1. As much as possible, keep your body and mind under control.
2. Maintain a regular spiritual practice, at least to a small extent.
3. Make protecting Nature a part of your daily routine.
4. Do not belittle the forces of Nature and see them as inferior.
5. See life from a broader perspective.
6. Create a balance between your selfish and selfless interests. We should try to do something that is selfless. It is like adding the digit 1 in front of many zeros. It gives value to all other actions
7. Acknowledge and obey the universal laws set by God—the supreme authority.

We should live this life in such a way that it benefits us and the world. Let our eyes be filled with the glow of compassion. Let our lips be colourful with the utterance of truth. Let our hands be beautiful with our acts of giving. Let our behaviour be filled with sweetness. Let our hearts be filled with Love for God & humanity. Let us make our hearts and the world more beautiful.

Life is the greatest book

We have so much more to learn from those around us than from books. Scriptures are being taught in the ashrams and everyone is learning scriptures. But the essence of the scriptures is in its practical aspect. We learn the practical aspect of the scriptures when we deal with other people.

Since ancient times, the tradition of worshipping the Supreme in the feminine — as the Mother — has been prevalent in India as well as in some other regions of the world. In fact, many of Amma’s children from different parts of the world have brought forms of the Divine Mother as was worshipped in their ancient traditions. All four Vedas praise the Parasakti — the feminine energy. This can be seen in the Vedic hymns like Durga Suktam, Sri Suktam, etc.
