در این گرامر، ساختار "the... the..." با صفات و قیدهای مقایسهای (مثل bigger, more quickly, less money) استفاده میشود تا نشان دهد هرچه یک چیز بیشتر یا کمتر باشد، چیز دیگری هم به همان نسبت تغییر میکند.
ساختار
the + صفت/قیدتر
بعد از هر نیم جمله مقایسه ای میتونیم فاعل و فعل رو برای تکمیل جمله بیاریم.
مثالها:
- The bigger the animal, the more problems you have.
> هرچه حیوان بزرگتر باشد، مشکلات بیشتری خواهی داشت.
- The earlier we start, the sooner we'll finish.
> هرچه زودتر شروع کنیم، زودتر تمام میکنیم.
