Christ, the New Adam, hangs crucified upon the Tree of Life. In the way that mankind was stained with original sin by Eve eating the forbidden fruit, the New Eve, Mary, will labor with Christ for our salvation through the fruit of his passion. The knowledge of good and evil brought death into the garden and so the New Adam and Eve came bearing fruit of the knowledge of salvation, plucked from the Tree of Life which have been produced through the labors and tribulations of the Holy Family.
