On the occasion of Dussehra thousand of people (lenghty queue upto 3-4 Kms is seen) to  WORSHIP RAVANA at the Dashanan temple in Kanpur for the annual ritual chanting "RAVAN NAMAH".
 The temple is only opened on the day of Dussehra and after worshipping Ravana, the temple is closed for the entire year. Devotees offer ridged gourd (taroi), flowers and mustard oil lamp to Ravana for seeking the blessings and good luck.

SAHASRA BAAHU TEMPLE.
In a small village called Nagda, some 25 km from Udaipur, Rajasthan, is an ancient Lord Vishnu temple called Sahasra Baahu temple. It was so called bcs the deity was Lord Vishnu with thousand hands.
It was built in 10th century CE by King Mahipala of Kuchchwaha dynasty.
While he constructed the main temple for his wife who was a Lord Vishnu devotee, he later constructed a smaller temple for his daughter in law who was a Lord Shiva devotee.
Though the temple complex was known as Sahasra Baahu temple, in later years, locals started calling it Saas Bahu temple.
Though the deities are no longer there, it has some excellent carvings.

Distance from Bangalore - 160 kms
This is a beautiful 900 years old temple which is situated in the village named Kikkeri, Mandya. Amazing Hoysala style of architecture and a temple dedicated to god Shiva and called as Brahmeshwara.
One must visit this place to see the architecture and beauty of the place.
We all went their and cleaned the place...it was an amazing experience...🙂 🙂
