Jakhu Temple Shimla, Himachal
When Hanuman ji reached Shimla ???
Answer:
There was a war going on between Lord Rama and the King of Lanka, Ravana. Even after the war continued for many days, Ravana's army was looking weak in front of Lord Rama's monkey army. Then Ravana's son Meghnad shot a Shakti arrow at Lakshman, due to which he fell unconscious. On the advice of the doctor, Hanuman ji set out to bring Sanjivani herb from the Himalayas for the treatment of Lakshman.
Hanuman ji, who was traveling through the sky, saw a Yaksha Rishi doing penance on Jakhu mountain. Hanuman ji got down at this place to rest on the way and ask for information about Sanjivani herb. After getting information about Sanjivani from Yaksha Rishi, Hanuman ji promised to meet him again.
Due to the illusion of a demon named Kalanemi, Hanuman ji got late, so he returned by a short route and could not meet the Yaksha Rishi as per his promise. The Rishi became worried at this. To remove his worry, Hanuman ji finally appeared before the Yaksha Rishi. After this, the self-manifested idol of Hanuman ji appeared at this place.

*Vengeri Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple*
Sri Subramanya Swami Temple is located at Vengeri near Calicut in the state of Kerala.Vengeri Sri Subrahmanya Swami temple is believed to have a history of more than a thousand years. Unlike other temples in the vicinity, the entire structure is situated on the top of an elevated land. It’s known among devotees that Lord Subrahmanya loves to live on highlands and hilltops.
*Legend*
Sometimes during the golden era of Indian culture, sculpture, tradition and philosophy, a group of brahmins from Thanjavur happened to travel to West for some reason. Along with their articles, they were carrying an idol of lord Muruga also. While crossing the land where the temple stands now, the team decided to pause and take some rest.
They put their head loads down. Kept the Muruga idol behind a Venga tree, and for safety they leaned the idol towards the tree and moved to the nearby river for bath and washing. Once they finished and came back to get the idol back, to their surprise, they found that the idol was stuck there and remained unmovable.
The Brahmins tried their best to get their Murugan idol back, but all efforts ended up in vein. Later they realized that, the place they kept the idol was a sacred land and that’s the right location to construct an abode for the lord and worship him.
They found similarities to Palani there. There was a beautiful stream on the North with fresh water. The soil on the land smelt sandal and appeared in bright saffron in colour.
The serenity of the place fascinated the Brahmins. They realized that it’s Lord Subrahmanya’s wish to sit there and bless the humanity. With the help of people living in the village they constructed a beautiful temple for Subrahmanya Swami. The temple was totally in Kerala architecture style and within short period of time, became very famous.
As the God himself found leaning towards the Venga tree, the temple is called Vengachari temple (chari means “leaning towards” in Malayalam).Venga Chari became Vengeri and later on, the village where the temple is situated also called after the temple as Vengeri.
Venga is one of the favourite trees of Lord Subrahmanya. In Skanda Purana, from verses 14 to 24, consists the story of Lord Muruga tries to persuade Valli to marry him. When Valli’s father appeared in the scene, Lord himself has taken the form of a Venga Tree to disguise from him.
Thaipuyam - As Puyam is very special to Sri Subramanya Swami, temple used to celebrate Puyam day of Makara month with special pooja, Abishekam, Subramanya sahasranama archana.
Sashti Vratham is observed on the sixth day of the waxing phase of moon (ShuklaPaksha) in a Hindu month. Special poojas are undertaken at this day in the temple. It is believed that Vratham observed on this day makes one’s married life successful.

*Chabbi Ganeshotsava*
Chabbi Ganeshotsava in Chabbi near Hubballi in the Dharwad district of Karnataka. The Kulkarni family of the village installs Ganesha idols with minimal decorations, but this attracts up to three lakh devotees every year from Karnataka, Maharashtra and other places.
The uniqueness of Lord Ganesha idols are all-red in colour. The right hand of the idol has a broken trunk, the left hand an Eshwara linga, and the two other hands carry weapons.
*History*
In 1821, Shri Krishnendra Swamiji came and settled at the Shri Datta Temple in Old Hubballi. Even today, the math (monastery) of Shri Krishnendra Swamiji, the incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, is famous in Old Hubballi. His era spanned from 1716 to 1856.
Once, on a day in 1827, Shri Krishnendra Swamiji set out from Naganur in Kalaghatagi Taluk towards Hubballi, along with Appanna Bhattaru, traveling on the royal road. As the day progressed, Appanna Bhattaru suggested stopping at the Shanubhoga's house in Varur to have a meal and rest. However, the Guru rejected the suggestion and said, "Let us go to the nearby village of Chabbi. That is where we will receive our meal today."
In Chabbi, Shanubhoga Tammappa welcomed the Guru with great respect and honor. Along with his wife, he worshipped the Guru's feet with deep devotion and reverence.
After receiving alms from Tammappanna's hands and enjoying a meal with his family and friends, the Guru was pleased.
Gratified by this, Sri Krishnendra Guru blessed Shanubhoga Tammappa, saying, "You worship Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, with devotion and grandeur every year on the day of Bhadrapada Shuddha Chaturthi. You will be blessed with children and prosperity."From there, they continued their journey to Hubballi.
Tammappa following the orders of the Guru with utmost respect, began organizing the grand Ganesh festival every year. As a result, Tammappa, who had no children, was blessed with a son who was named as Vittappa. They prospered greatly, and in this way, the Guru uplifted his devotees.
Thus, the Ganesh festival, which began in 1827, continues to be celebrated with great grandeur every year. The current generation is the fifth generation of Tammappa. Now, five families from their lineage are settled there, continuing the worship of Lord Ganesha.
*Celebration of Sri Ganesha Festival*
Every year, on the evening of Bhadrapada Chaturthi, a red-colored Ganesha idol is ceremoniously brought to their homes in a palanquin, accompanied by music and with great grandeur, under umbrellas and fans. The idol is then installed in specially built mantaps (stages)."
The head of the family after performing the *punya vachanam* (a ritual for purifying the home), ceremonially installs the idol of Lord Ganesha according to scriptural rites. With the family head's permission, the officiating priests undertake the recitation of sacred texts, and each day, Vedic Brahmins perform rituals for Lord Ganesha, including abhisheka, naivedya, aarti, and mantra pushpa.
Every night after the Vedic mantra pushpa devotional songs are sung and keertans are performed. Recently, some families have also begun organizing *Ganahoma*. This festival is celebrated with great splendor for three days. On the final day, the Brahmins offer the merits (punya) accumulated from their recitations to the head of the family as a blessing.
The special feature here is the third day which is particularly significant for the rituals performed by the Brahmins and the head of the family. After midnight on the third day, Lord Ganesha is ceremonially immersed (visarjana), with the idol being placed in a palanquin and taken in a grand procession before being immersed in a lake.
The Ganesha of Chabbi is believed to be a vigilant deity who fulfills the wishes of his devotees and is gracious to all requests.

*Moodagallu Keshavanatheshwara Temple*
Kesavanatheshwar Cave Temple is a symbol of the wonder of nature is located at Moodagallu in Keradi village of Kundapur taluk in Karnataka.
As the name "Moodagallu" suggests, witnessing the deity Keshavanatheshwara worshipped inside this naturally formed cave is truly a wonder. Devotees visit Lord Shiva by going into the water about 50 feet inside the cave., with various types of fish and snakes moving around freely. Despite this, the priests, who have been wading through the water and offering prayers to the deity for many years, do so without any fear. At first glance, the atmosphere may seem intimidating. However, the priests reassure visitors, saying that these serpents have never caused any harm to anyone.
The cave is filled with darkness, and aside from the light of the deity's lamp, there is no other source of illumination. Standing in the water while experiencing the touch of fish against one's feet, along with the darshan (sight) of the deity, is an extraordinary experience.
This cave temple is believed to be extremely ancient, with a legend that says Lord Shiva travelled to Kashi from within this cave. It is also said that many sages and hermits performed penance here, as there are signs of their presence.
In ancient times, a landowner's field was mysteriously damaged by an unknown creature. To catch this creature, the landowner waited through the night. At one point, he noticed a cow entering the field, so he followed it. The cow entered the nearby cave, and the landowner followed it inside for quite a distance. After a while, the cow disappeared. Trapped in the dark cave and seeing no other way out, the landowner began to pray to God. At that moment, a small light began to shine from outside the cave. Following this light, the landowner found his way out of the cave. Amazed by this divine intervention, the landowner decided to dedicate the field, which had been damaged by the cow, to the deity. This is the belief associated with the place.
Parallel to the cave, there is a Peepal tree platform (Ashwatthakatte), and the priests say that at night, they have witnessed light rays passing directly between the platform and the cave.
