Bayalu Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Temple - Srishaila
Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Temple is located at Srishaila in Andhra Pradesh. As the temple doesn't have a roof, this temple is called as Bayalu Veerabhadra temple.
Veerabhadra Swamy is the guardian of Srisaila Kshetram who is also known as Bayalu Veerabhadra Swamy. Usually, Lord Vishnu at Shiva temple and Lord Shiva at Vishnu Temple host themselves as guardians. But the significance of Srisailam is that Veerabhadra Swamy hosts as a guardian of Srisaila Kshetram. Facing the east, in a hall towards the southern road to Ganghadhara Mandapam that's at the front of the main temple, is the Bayalu Veerabhadra Swamy temple. There is no roof to this temple, hence the god guards Srisailam without the fear of the scorching sun and tormenting rains. Few devotees, for this reason, address him as Kavali Veerabhadra Swamy.
The idol of the Lord depicts regional representation with 10 arms adorning a crown. The right arms from bottom to top hold, Sword, Restraint, Battle Axe, Trident and Arrow. Similarly, his left arms hold, Dalu, Knife, Studded club, Snake and Bow. He is seen wearing a crown with Shiva Lingam carved into it, a necklace and a garland of skulls. To his right features Daksha and to his left is Bhadra Kali.
Veera=One with Fierceness, Bhadra=One who is a form of goodness, Veerabhadra. Which means his fierceness is for our good. Lord Shiva has three forms namely, Ugra-Bhoga-Yoga. His Ugra form is Veerabhadra. Nandi-Parvata were born as a blessing of Lord Shiva. Veerabhadra and Bhadrakali were born from Lord Shiva's matted locks. These two are an integral part of Kailasa. When the world's Mother and Father, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi with all the powers vested in them start their journey towards, Earth's Kailasa, the world's centre, home to Vedas, Upasanakendra, their new called home, Srisaila Kshetram, Veerabhadra accompanied them to reside here to bless all devotees. There are many shrines dedicated to Veerabhadra all over India, but Srisailam is the only Kshetram where is he resides wholly with all his powers. Among the many avatars in which Lord Shiva resides in Srisailam, the avatar he chose to protect his devotees is Veerabhadram.
The devotees believe that worshipping this god rids them of troubles, illnesses and gifts them good health.

I wld like to share interesting fact I hv known thru a discourse I hv listened. In the above 2 pictures of Lord Gopinathji in Jaipur, u can see watch tied in his wrist. Before independence when British ruled India, a Viceroy mocked the king of Jaipur that he was wasting his time praying a statue as God. To test if the statue was a God, the Viceroy tied a watch on Lord Gopinathji's wrist. That watch had sensor & it worked only if there was movement in a body. Upto his surprise, the watch tied on Lord's wrist worked proving that the Lord's statue had life & it was God himself. Fm that day the Viceroy became a devotee of Lord Gopinathji. In that remembrance, the Lord's wrist has watch tied now also. God exists in every particle is our belief! Hare Krishna! ❤️🌺🦚

Ganganadu Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple - Byndoor
Ganganadu Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple is located about 8 kms east of Byndoor town in Udipi District-Karnataka. It has a rich history dating back to the 10th century. Vanakodlu the place where this ancient temple is located, assumes its name from the picturesque lush green hillocks of the Western Ghats. The principal deity here, is Lord Mahalingeshwara the incarnation of Lord Shiva, the towering deity of the Hindu trinity.
It is believed that during the latter part of 10th-century Rashrakutas and in the 13th century Vijayanagara emperors patronized this temple. Later it received the royal patronage of the Kings of Keladi Dynasty, who ruled this region between the 15th to 17th century. Many other temples under the Nayakas of Keladi show resemblance to the architecture of this temple. Towards the 18th century, the temple fell victim to foreign invasion and saw its ruins.
There is a Shivalingam at the center of the sanctum sanctorum (Garbhagriha) with Shree Maha Ganapati to the right and Shiva’s consort Parvathi Devi to the left. Naga regarded as the door guardian, occupies the outer vicinity of the temple. The statue of Nandi the sacred bull, located in its beautiful pavilion called Nandi Mantapa faces Lord Mahalingeshwara the principal deity. It is fabled that the water from river Ganga flows into this lake or Pushkarni giving this place the name Ganganadu.According to the historians the Nandi idol is estimated to be over 1000 years old.
The Utsava murthy which is the embodiment of the principal deity, used during the temple festival is seen to have 4 arms, holding battle axe(Parashu) on one hand and a wild stag (Mruga) on the other. Two other hands display gestures like Varada ( benevolence) on the right and Abhaya ( fearlessness) on the left. This representation of Abhaya mudra on the left is quite unique, unlike other idols of its kind which display it on the right hand.
About 200 years ago, the Late Shree Duggappa Shetty, head of Yedthare family stumbled upon the Shivalingam in the dense forest during his hunting expedition. He commissioned the reconstruction of the temple at that site. The family acted as hereditary trustee, reserving about 180 acres of land for the temple, the ownership of which and the wealth gained thereof was vested with the deity.Over the years, the Yedthare family has overseen various activities at the temple and has been instrumental in the upkeeping of this Shreene.
Many devotees who visited this temple have reported metaphysical insights, realizations and descriptions of countless experiences of divinity in the Garbhagriha. The temple lake particularly is endowed with the power to heal people of their maladies.

The Vidyashankara Mandir was constructed in 1338 AD. The mandir is located in the holy town of Sringeri, in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka. Twelve pillars surround the mandapa with figures of the twelve signs of the zodiac. They are constructed in such an ingenious way that the rays of the sun fall on each pillar in the chronological order of the twelve months of the Hindu calendar. Each column is topped by a Yali with a rolling stone ball in its mouth. Inside the mandir, on the floor, a circle is drawn with lines corresponding to the shadows cast by each pillar. There are five Garbhagrahas here. The main Garbhagraha has a Shiva Linga over the Samadhi of Sri Vidyashankara and it is known as Vidya Shankara Linga. The other Garbhagraha are for Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and Durga. The Garbhagraha is topped by a majestic square vimana.
