📍Why We Fall Back into Sin

Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

A person only returns to sin because there are still remnants of desire or doubt in their heart.
So if the heart becomes free from both doubt and desire, they won’t go back to that sin.

📍Don’t Leave Home Without Purpose

Imam Malik ibn Anas (رحمه الله) said:

“Don’t go out of your house too much—only leave for something necessary.
And don’t sit in gatherings that don’t benefit you with knowledge.”

📍A Powerful Fatwa on Healing the Soul

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) was asked:

“What is the cure for someone overtaken by his desires? What should someone do who is overcome by confusion, laziness and distractions? He wants to turn to Allah, but his own self pulls him back. He tries to reflect, but his thoughts scatter. He wants to act, but he's too weak to follow through…”

Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله responded:

“The cure is to turn to Allah sincerely, to keep calling on Him with humility, especially using the authentic du’as at the times when dua is more likely to be accepted — like the last part of the night, between adhan and iqamah, in sujood, and after prayers.
He should also keep making istighfar (seeking forgiveness), because Allah promised: ‘Whoever seeks forgiveness and repents, Allah will grant him a good life.’

Let him have a daily routine of dhikr — morning, evening, and before sleep — and be patient with whatever distractions and difficulties come. If he’s consistent, Allah will support him with His Spirit and plant faith in his heart.

He must give special care to praying the five daily prayers, properly with heart and body — for they are the backbone of the religion.

Let his constant words be:
‘La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power or strength except with Allah).’
With these words, one can carry burdens, face hardships, and rise to higher states.

And never give up on making dua. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘A person’s dua is answered as long as he doesn’t give up and say: I made dua but didn’t get an answer.’

Victory comes with patience. Relief comes with hardship. Ease comes with difficulty. No one ever achieved anything great — prophet or otherwise — without patience.”

Want your sins wiped away—even if they’re as much as the foam of the sea?

say:“Subḥan Allah wa bi ḥamdih” (Glory is to Allah and praise is His) 100 times a day.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever says: Subhan Allah wa bi hamdih a hundred times a day, his sins will be forgiven even if they were as much as the foam of the sea."

📍Guarding the tongue is an act of worship

Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz رحمه الله said:

"We met the early generations (the Salaf), and they didn’t see worship in fasting or praying alone — but in holding back from speaking about others. So a person who prays at night and fasts by day, if he doesn’t guard his tongue, he will be bankrupt on the Day of Judgment.”

📍Prioritize Quality Over Quantity in Every Act of Worship

Ibnulqayim رحمه الله said:

“Reciting one surah with reflection, understanding, and full attention is more beloved to Allah تعالى than completing the entire Qur’an quickly without focus — even if the fast recitation brings great reward.”

▪️Why Seek Knowledge?

Sheikh Saleh Al-Sheikh حفظه الله said:

“The goal of seeking knowledge isn’t for every student to become a scholar.

The true purpose is:

To remove ignorance from yourself.
To worship Allah عز وجل with correct, sound worship.
To purify your ‘aqeedah (belief), so you meet Allah with a sound heart.”

Allah تعالى says:
“The Day when neither wealth nor children will benefit, except one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.”
[Surah Ash-Shu‘ara: 88-89]

A sound heart is free from doubts and from indulging in sinful desires.
This is one of the great fruits of knowledge — that you lift ignorance from your own soul.

📍Hearts Turning to Allah During Hardship

Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) said:

“From the perfection of Allah’s blessing upon His believing servants is that He sends them hardship and trials that compel them to turn to Him alone in sincerity — calling upon Him, hoping in Him, and placing their hearts fully in Him and not in anyone else.
Through this, they taste the sweetness of faith, experience true reliance on Him, return to Him wholeheartedly, and become free of shirk (associating partners with Him). This is a greater blessing than being relieved from illness, fear, or poverty — because those are just physical or worldly comforts, which even disbelievers might enjoy more than believers.”

🔸 عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال:
سُئل رسول الله ﷺ: أيُّ الصلاة أفضل بعد الفريضة؟ وأيُّ الصيام أفضل بعد رمضان؟

🔸 Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked: “Which prayer is best after the obligatory ones? And which fasting is best after the month of Ramadan?” He ﷺ replied: “The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is praying in the depths of the night (Tahajjud), and the best fasting after the month of Ramadan is fasting in the month of Allah, Al-Muharram.”

⚠️ One of the devil’s traps is excess and negligence

Ibnul-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said: "He(Shaytan) observes your soul closely to see which trait dominates: courage and determination, or hesitation and weakness.

– If he sees that you're timid and hesitant, he makes you lazy, weakens your drive to obey Allah, and makes the act feel heavy and difficult — until you eventually give it up or do it carelessly.

– But if he sees that you're brave and ambitious, he tells you that what you're doing isn’t enough, that you need to do more, exaggerate, and overdo it — until you go beyond the limits. As one of the early scholars said
: "There is no command from Allah except that the devil tries to drag you one of two ways: either to neglect and fall short, or to go overboard and be extreme — and he doesn’t care which one he gets you with."
