I made two videos for people who are newbies right now. I said everything I tell my students to grow and get out of newbie. These are the things that I did myself as well, and around 4 months after being a newbie, I got rank 4 in a div 2 contest. This is the first video on this topic. I highly encourage you to do these things if you are a Newbie right now!

Never Do these! If you want to get out of Newbie.
This is what I always tell my students to do when they start CP.
At the beginning, when you want to get out of Newbie in Codeforces, you should never do these things.

Tomorrow, we’re going to solve some super cool problems from graph algorithms. I’ve chosen some of the best problems, ranging in difficulty, and some are really challenging and beautiful. However, you don’t need any prior knowledge to solve them besides what we discussed in the previous two topic streams on graphs, so anyone at any level can follow along.
Don’t miss this topic stream! I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

We’re having our “Graph Algorithms Problem Solving” session tomorrow! (Sunday 14 - 16 GMT) As the title suggests, it’s going to be from starter to expert! I’ve picked the best problems that require no prior knowledge—it’s all about the ideas. I’m excited because I’m sure you’ll learn a lot about the art of problem-solving in this stream!

From winning a gold medal in the IOI to earning over half a million dollars a year, I’m interviewing someone who learned to code before he could read.
Arash’s story is incredible. Born in Iran, he grew up writing programs. He studied Olympiad in Informatics during high school (where I first met him) and went on to win a gold medal in the IOI. Later, he moved to Canada to pursue his bachelor’s degree at the University of Waterloo. After gaining experience and completing a few internships, Arash moved to the Netherlands to work for Radix. Now, he’s waiting for his visa to relocate to the US.
In this interview, Arash shares his thoughts on IOI and competitive programming, how he prepared, and his journey to becoming a quantitative researcher and landing a job in the field.
