In my opinion, the fact that here the verb is used as non-reflexive but intransitive verb, makes it to my contemporary Italian's ears so INCREDIBLY elegant, so noble, so urgent, so authoritative, so imperious that I wish the entire world spoke Italian to feel it. "Dileguare" comes originally from Latin de-lĭquare, same root of the word "liquid", once meaning indeed "make something liquid, liquefy". "Vanish, liquefy, do what you want but go out of my sight, o night!"
"Tramontate stelle!" = "Set, you stars". "Set" meaning "fade, go down below the horizon", indeed "tramonto" means sunset and the verb "tramontare" can be used for any astronomical object that disappears below the horizon (etimology: tra-montare, "go beyond the mountains" on the horizon).
"All'alba vincerò" = "At dawn I will win" (alba, dawn, from Latin alba (lux), white (light) of the sky as the sun approaches the horizon).
