Summary of the NiaMIT niacin supplementation human clinical trial
Participants took niacin for 4 to 10 months. The researchers reported increases in NAD+, mitochondrial mass, cellular respiration and glycocen. They also measured improved muscle strength and exercise performance. Reduction of unhealthy fat, such as visceral fat and liver fat were also observed. This could be the result of improved mitochondrial energy metabolism.
