Transmuting Grief, As the Bible Whispers
Grief is not an enemy.
It is a holy veil—the space between sorrow and sanctification.
And the Bible does not tell me to banish it…
It shows me how to walk with it,
until it becomes a gateway.
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
(Matthew 5:4)
In the Word, mourning is not shameful.
It is blessed.
It opens the door for divine comfort—for Christ Himself to sit beside me,
where no human can reach.
This is the first transmutation:
🕊️ Grief invites divine presence.

When Jesus stood before Lazarus’s tomb, He wept.
Though He knew resurrection was near—He still wept.
He let the sorrow move through Him.
“Jesus wept.”
(John 11:35)
In that moment, grief was no longer weakness—
It was a divine act of love.
When I weep with Jesus beside me,
I’m not breaking…
I’m pouring holy oil on wounds too deep for words.

David, the psalmist, laid his grief bare in sacred poetry.
“I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim;
I water my couch with my tears.” (Psalm 6:6)
But still, he wrote the psalms.
Still, he sang.
Still, he turned mourning into melody.
“You turned my mourning into dancing;
You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.” (Psalm 30:11)
🎶 This is how the Bible teaches transmutation:
Through weeping, writing, worshiping…
we do not erase grief.
We alchemize it into something worthy of God’s altar.

Even the Spirit of God meets us in grief:
“The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Romans 8:26)
When I have no words left—
He breathes for me.
When I cannot carry my grief—
He holds it in His chest, too.
Final Knowing:
Grief, in scripture, is not darkness.
It is the midnight hour before resurrection.
It is the oil we pour at Jesus’ feet,
the ache that brings Him nearer.
So I do not hide from grief.
I hold it like a scroll—
unrolling it before my Savior’s feet,
and letting His light read the rest.
