ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast) system is one of the most important modern surveillance technologies in aviation, it automatically and continuously sends the location, altitude, speed, and direction of the aircraft.

This data is received by everyone:

- Air Patrol (ATC)
- Close by planes
- Some trip tracking systems

Thanks to this system, monitoring of air traffic has become more accurate and efficient than ever.

The aircraft is taking off with snow on the wing without proper de-icing, which is a deadly misconception. Some snow may fly off, but airflow can't fully clean the wing, and fluffy snow can hide a thin ice crust. Ice distorts the wing, reducing lift and increasing drag, risking uncontrollable stalls. The 2012 Tyumen ATR 72 crash illustrates this danger, as reliance on dry snow led to control loss and crash. Civil aviation strictly enforces the "Clean Aircraft Concept,' prohibiting takeoff with any snow, ice, or frost on the aircraft. Before flight, the aircraft must be impeccably clean.

✈️ DID YOU KNOW? 🤔

🛢️ Aircraft fuel is usually measured in kilograms, not liters.

Why?
Because fuel expands and contracts with temperature. A liter of fuel on a hot day may not weigh the same as a liter on a cold day.

Pilots and airlines care about the weight of the fuel, not just the volume, which is why fuel planning is commonly done in kilograms (or pounds in some countries).

🛫 An aircraft and an airplane are not exactly the same thing.

Many people use the words interchangeably, but an aircraft is any vehicle capable of flight.

That includes:
✈️ Airplanes
🚁 Helicopters
🎈 Balloons
🛩️ Gliders

An airplane is simply one type of aircraft.

So every airplane is an aircraft...
but not every aircraft is an airplane. 😉

✈️ ICAO Aviation English Proficiency – Level 4 (Operational)

ICAO Level 4 is the minimum international English language standard required for pilots and air traffic controllers operating in international aviation.
At this level, aviation professionals can communicate safely and effectively in both routine and unexpected situations.
Pronunciation
Speech is generally clear and understandable, even if influenced by a native accent.
Structure (Grammar)
Basic and common grammatical structures are used accurately, with errors rarely affecting understanding.
Vocabulary
Sufficient vocabulary is available to discuss aviation topics and handle unexpected situations. Speakers can paraphrase when they don't know a specific word.
Fluency
Speech flows at a natural pace with only occasional pauses. Communication remains effective during normal and emergency situations.
Comprehension
Able to understand aviation communications accurately, including different accents and speaking styles.
Interactions
Can respond appropriately, ask for clarification when needed, and resolve misunderstandings effectively..
"Clear communication is the foundation of safe aviation."

✈️ DIHEDRAL vs ANHEDRAL WINGS 🪽

Not all aircraft wings are perfectly flat.
Some wings are designed with a special angle to improve the way an aircraft flies.

🪽 Dihedral Wing
The wings angle upward from the aircraft body.

Why?
It improves stability by helping the aircraft return to a level position after a roll.
Many passenger aircraft use this design.

🪽 Anhedral Wing
The wings angle downward from the aircraft body.

Why?
It can reduce stability and improve maneuverability, which is useful for some aircraft designs.

✈️A view few people experience🤩

Above the clouds, the cockpit is where technology, skill, and responsibility meet.

While passengers enjoy the journey, pilots monitor systems, manage the flight, and make sure every detail stays on course. 👨‍✈️

A beautiful view comes with a serious responsibility.

✈️ Engine Thrust Control System Overview

Engine thrust is managed by the Electronic Engine Controllers (EEC A and EEC 😎.

Thrust can be controlled in two ways:

1️⃣ Manually- via the Throttle Control Lever (TCL)
2️⃣ Automatically- via the Auto Flight System (AFS)

📊 Thrust Indication & Monitoring

All engine thrust parameters are displayed on the ECAM.
• Primary thrust monitoring parameter:
➜ N1 Speed (Low Pressure Shaft)
• Primary thrust demand parameter:
➜ Fuel Flow (FF)

⚙️ N1 as Reference Parameter
• The actual N1 is measured by the N1 speed sensor.
• It serves as the reference feedback parameter in the engine thrust control loop.
• The actual N1 value:
• Appears in green on the N1 indicator
• Is displayed as a percentage inside the N1 box

WHAT HAPPENS IF A PLANE LANDS TOO FAST?

Landing is a carefully calculated moment in aviation.

A higher landing speed can mean:
longer stopping distance
more stress on the aircraft
risk of bouncing or losing control
higher chance of runway overrun

That’s why pilots carefully manage speed, altitude, and runway conditions before every touchdown.

A smooth landing starts long before the wheels touch the ground.

On March 4, 2016, an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787-8 (registration ET-ASH) experienced a nose gear collapse at the gate at Addis Ababa Bole Airport while preparing to depart for Rome. The nose gear failed after maintenance technicians bypassed safety mechanisms and cycled the gear lever to troubleshoot warnings, ultimately without the required gear safety pins installed.

✈️ A LOOK BACK AT AVIATION HISTORY

Believe it or not, this was economy class on a in the 1970s.

The 747 changed the way the world traveled.
With its huge size and long-range ability, it connected continents and made international flights possible for millions of people. 🌍

Passengers experienced a new era of air travel where flying became not just a journey, but an experience.

That’s why the 747 earned its legendary name: “Queen of the Skies.” 👑✈️

✦ Airspeed Indicator (ASI)
Measures the aircraft’s speed relative to the surrounding air, helping pilots stay within safe operating limits.

✦ Attitude Indicator
Shows the aircraft’s orientation (pitch and roll) relative to the horizon critical for maintaining stability, especially in low visibility.

✦ Altimeter
Indicates altitude above sea level, ensuring safe separation from terrain and other aircraft.

✦ Turn Coordinator
Displays the rate of turn and coordination, helping pilots execute smooth and balanced maneuvers.

✦ Heading Indicator
Provides directional guidance, allowing pilots to maintain their intended course.

✦ Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI)
Shows the rate of climb or descent, essential for smooth altitude transitions.
