๐ŸŽฏโœˆ๏ธ A REAL TIP FOR YOUR NEXT INTERVIEW-DON'T STOP AT YOUR FIRST ANSWER

Hereโ€™s something many applicants overlook:

In an interview, the first answer may not be the end of the question.

An interviewer might take your answer and ask:

ยซโ€œWhy?โ€
โ€œCan you give us an example?โ€
โ€œWhat would you do if that happened?โ€
โ€œWhat did you learn from that experience?โ€ยป

So don't practice only giving a perfect one-line answer.

Instead, when preparing, take every important question and challenge yourself with one follow-up question.

For example:

โ€œTell us about a time you worked in a team.โ€

Don't stop at your prepared answer.

Ask yourself:

โžก๏ธ What was my role?
โžก๏ธ What problem did the team face?
โžก๏ธ What did I personally do?
โžก๏ธ What was the result?
โžก๏ธ What did I learn?

๐Ÿ”ฅ TIP:

Practice your answers like a conversation, not a speech.

You may forget a memorized sentence under pressure.

But if you understand your own experience, you can explain it from different angles.

Prepare the answer. Then prepare for what comes after it. ๐ŸŽฏ

โœˆ๏ธ WINGLETS & THEIR DIFFERENT SHAPES

Ever wondered why the tips of airplane wings come in different shapes? ๐Ÿ‘€

Those fins and curved extensions are called wingtip devices. Their main job is to reduce induced drag caused by wingtip vortices, helping the aircraft fly more efficiently and save fuel. โ›ฝโœˆ๏ธ

But they don't all look the same. Here are some of the most common designs:

๐Ÿ”น 1. Canted Winglets
Angle upward and outward from the wingtip.
โœˆ๏ธ Examples: Airbus A330, A340, A220 & Boeing 747-400

๐Ÿ”น 2. Blended Winglets
Curve smoothly from the wing into the winglet.
โœˆ๏ธ Common on Boeing 737NG
Airbus calls similar designs Sharklets on the A320 family.

๐Ÿ”น 3. Wingtip Fences
Vertical surfaces extend both above and below the wingtip.
โœˆ๏ธ Found on older A320 family aircraft & A380

๐Ÿ”น 4. Split Scimitar Winglets
An upgraded design with an additional lower fin and a reshaped upper tip.
โœˆ๏ธ Seen on some Boeing 737NGs

๐Ÿ”น 5. Advanced Technology Winglets
The 737 MAX uses a distinctive upper-and-lower wingtip design.

๐Ÿ”น 6. Raked Wingtips
Instead of a separate winglet, the wing itself extends outward and sweeps backward to a narrow tip.
โœˆ๏ธ Examples: Boeing 777, 787 & 747-8

๐ŸŽฏโœˆ๏ธ A REAL INTERVIEW TIP โ€” PREPARE YOUR โ€œSMALL STORIESโ€

Most applicants prepare big answers like:

โŒ โ€œTell us about yourself.โ€
โŒ โ€œWhy Ethiopian Airlines?โ€
โŒ โ€œWhy should we choose you?โ€

But hereโ€™s a smarter way to prepare:

Prepare 4โ€“5 short real stories from your own life.

For example:

๐Ÿ”น A time you solved a problem
๐Ÿ”น A time you made a mistake and corrected it
๐Ÿ”น A time you worked with someone difficult
๐Ÿ”น A time you had to learn something quickly
๐Ÿ”น A time you stayed calm under pressure

Why?

Because one real experience can answer many different interview questions.

The interviewer might change the wording completely, but if you understand your own experience, you can adapt your answer naturally.

๐Ÿ”ฅ DONโ€™T MEMORIZE 30 ANSWERS.

Build a small collection of experiences you can explain clearly:

That gives you something memorization cannot:

flexibility.

And when the interviewer asks an unexpected question, you won't be starting from zero.

๐Ÿ”งโœˆ๏ธ AMT APPLICANTS โ€” WHAT AIRCRAFT COULD YOU WORK ON?

If you become an AMT at Ethiopian Airlines, you won't necessarily work on just one type of aircraft.

Ethiopian operates different aircraft, including:

โœˆ๏ธ Airbus A350
โœˆ๏ธ Boeing 787 Dreamliner
โœˆ๏ธ Boeing 777
โœˆ๏ธ Boeing 737
โœˆ๏ธ Q400
โœˆ๏ธ Different cargo aircraft

But here's the interesting part ๐Ÿ‘‡

An AMT doesn't just work on any aircraft without proper training. Different aircraft have different systems, procedures and maintenance requirements.

You could be doing line maintenance around an aircraft during its operation, working in the hangar during deeper maintenance, or working with components that have been removed from the aircraft.

๐Ÿ”ฅ ONE THING TO REMEMBER:

The aircraft may look different from the outside, but every one of them demands the same thing from an AMT:

Accuracy. Discipline. And knowing exactly what you're doing.

So while you're preparing now, build your basics in physics, mechanics, electricity and technical English.

๐Ÿ”งโœˆ๏ธ AMT TIP โ€” LEARN THE UNITS, NOT JUST THE FORMULAS

A common mistake when preparing for the AMT written exam is memorizing formulas without paying attention to the units.

You might know:

Speed = Distance รท Time

But what if the distance is given in kilometres and the time in minutes?

You have to convert the units before calculating.

The same applies to:

โš™๏ธ Force โ€” Newtons (N)
๐Ÿ”Œ Voltage โ€” Volts (V)
โšก Current โ€” Amperes (A)
๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Pressure โ€” PSI / Pa
๐Ÿ“ Length โ€” mm / cm / m

๐ŸŽฏ REAL TIP:

Whenever you solve a physics or mechanical question, look at the numbers and ask:

โ€œAre the units compatible?โ€

That small habit can save you from losing an easy mark in the exam.

Don't just calculate the numbers. Understand what the numbers mean. ๐Ÿ”งโœˆ๏ธ
