✅Zonal councils are statutory bodies.
✅ There are five zonal councils setup under the part III of the state reorganisation, Act 1956 .
1. Northern Zonal Council : Its head office is in NewDelhi.
2. The Central Zonal Council : Its headquarter is in Allahabad.
3. The Eastern Zonal Council : Its headquarter is in Kolkata .
4. The Western Zonal Council : Its headquarter is in Mumbai.
5. The Southern Zonal Council : Its headquarter is in Chennai
✅Sikkim is a part of North Eastern Zonal Council
