HSRP High-Security Registration Plate๐:
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways introduced the High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) in 2001, and it has been a significant step towards ensuring security and safety on Indian roads. The HSRP plate is made up of special 1mm aluminium that is laminated with white or yellow reflective sheets.
What is HSRP?
The High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) is a tamper-proof vehicle registration/number plate that is made up of aluminium, having a chromium-based hologram, hot-stamped alpha-numerals with retro-reflective sheet, and a laser-etched PIN (laser code). HSRP is now compulsory in India for all vehicles. According to a recent notification, there were around 4 million registered cars without HSRP before 2012 in Delhi alone.
HSRP Registration Procedure
Vehicle owners can register for their number plates through the official website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways or get them from authorized vendors in their respective states.
Benefits of HSRP
The availability of vehicle registration data will become easy for Enforcement Agencies, which will be helpful in traffic management. Details that are provided by the vehicle owner for HSRP registration include the engine number, model number, copy of valid insurance, and chassis number, among others. These plates are tamper-proof and make it quite easy for the vehicle owner to trace their vehicle in case it is stolen.
HSRP Registration Fees
The HSRP registration fee for two-wheelers is Rs. 400, while for four-wheelers, it is Rs. 1100. The fees for four-wheeler vehicles depend on the category of the vehicle.
HSRP 2023- Color Code Stickers
The Indian Government has made HSRP mandatory for all Indian citizens. Along with HSRP, colour-coded stickers are also mandatory for vehicles having a windscreen.

The Russian-Indian joint venture plans to begin testing the latest air-launched supersonic missile BrahMos-MA (BrahMos-NG) in two years.
A. Maksichev, co-director of the BrahMos joint venture on the Russian side, reported this to TASS on Monday.
Brahmos NG , now branded Brahmos MA is a much shorter and lighter version targeted to be integrated with most of Indian Air force fighter planes.
Though bigger planes such as Su-30MKI can manage existing Brahmos, the new generation planes such as Rafale, LCA, etc will need shorter, lighter missiles to target stealth and more thrust to power.
