Study Overview : Toxics Link, an environmental organization, conducted a study to check if Salt & Sugar brands in India 🇮🇳 contain Microplastics.

🔸 Microplastics Found : Study found that all types of salt+ sugar :-
-Big brands
-Small ones
-Packaged
-Unpackaged
had microplastics.

🔸Types of Microplastics: Tiny plastic particles(fibre , pellet, films , Fragments ) that can come from various sources like plastic packaging , Contamination of water sources , Manufacturing process ,pollution in the environment.

🔸Size of These Microplastics: 0.1 mm - 5mm

🔸Health Concerns : Microplastics can be harmful as they can enter our bodies when we consume these products, potentially leading to health issues
-Inflammation [chronic diseases]
-Respiratory Problems,
-Cancer
-Neurotoxicity

1.Rape is the fourth most common crime against women in India.
According to the 2021 annual report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), 31,677 rape cases were registered across the country, or an average of 86 cases daily.
