National Emergency:
As per Article 352 of the Indian Constitution, the President of India may declare a national emergency if the security of India or any part of it is threatened due to war, external aggression, or armed rebellion.
The use of the term 'armed rebellion' is notable: it was added by the 44th Amendment Act, 1978, which replaced the initial term 'internal disturbance'. Hence statement 1 is correct.
Under normal circumstances, India follows a federal structure. Note:In the original CAPF 2023 question paper option 4 was 2,3 and 4 Only. But since statement 1 is also correct, this would invalidate the question. So, option 4 has been changed.
