Indian Army Fire and Fury Corps in collaboration with Jio Telecom has successfully installed the first ever 5G Mobile Tower on the Siachen Glacier.
Indian Army Signallers and Siachen Warriors overcame harsh terrain and extreme temperatures below -40ยฐC to install the 5G BTS at North Glacier.
Besides this, satellite based internet services have already been operational on Siachen using ISRO GSAT 11 and GSAT 19 satellites under Bharat Net Project since 2022.
