India press freedom score falls, says Reporters sans Frontieres
Norway and Denmark topped the RSF table while Eritrea was at the bottom, with Syria just ahead of it.
India’s score in the World Press Freedom Index fell over the last year, from 36.62 to 31.28, according to Reporters Without Borders (RSF for Reporters sans Frontières), which puts together an annual index of freedom enjoyed by journalists in 180 jurisdictions. India’s rank improved from 161 in 2023 to 159 in 2024, but this was because other countries had slipped in their rankings. The government has in the past dismissed international rankings of freedoms in India as propaganda.

PRACTICE.. PRACTICE.. PRACTICE.

I prepared for the Paper 2 by solving the PYQs from 2009–2019. Wrote Essays, Reports, Arguments, Precise, Comprehension and Grammar.

I also solved Paper -2 PYQs of CISF AC LDCE examination conducted by UPSC.

Doing the PYQs gave me a hold on all the major parts from where UPSC asks questions in Paper 2.. I revised the answers I wrote before the exam.

While writing answers, I used to refer to one or two good articles written on that topic and then used to recollect them while writing my own answer..

I also practiced the important topics given by various coaching platforms which are provided for free.

I had prepared a list of quotes on various terms like Women Empowerment, Health, Education, Security, International Relations, Natural Resources etc.

I had prepared a list of different reports and the data it is providing for example ASER data, IMF data, WHO data and recommendations by such organisations.

For Grammar, I found out a list of topics which are regularly and repeatedly asked.. Then I prepared them one by one by going through the concepts and solving questions based on those topics.

Hope it Helps!
