India will start its own HeatIndex next year to quantify impact of heatwave on its population and generate impact based heat wave alerts for specific locations.

✅Talking to Akashvani News, Director General, India Meteorological Department M Mohapatra says Department is working over it and it will be launched next summer season. Along with temperature and humidity, it will generate other parameters such as wind and duration of exposure.
