अक्सर लोग ये कहते हैं trauma survivors से कि उसने अपने abuser को तुरन्त ही क्यों नहीं छोड़ दिया और victim के मन में भी ये प्रश्न आ जाता है कि ऐसा क्या हो गया जो मैं उसके ट्रैप में बना रहा या रही तो इसका उत्तर ये है कि narcissistic relationship normal relationship की तरह नहीं होता बल्कि victim शुरू से narcissist की supply होता है। Narcissist बहुत चालाकी से अपनी tactics use करके उसे अपने trap में रखता है और victim को पता ही नहीं चलता कि उसके साथ abuse हो रही है और जब पता चलता है victim बहुत बुरी तरह से उसके ट्रैप में आ जाता है। Narcissist कभी अपनी supply पर से अपना कंट्रोल नहीं खोना चाहता because they have very fragile ego तो वो उसे कभी love bombing कभी gaslighting, कभी कुछ तो कभी कुछ करके उसे confused रखता है। तो victim से ना पूछें why did you stay in an abusive relationship? बल्कि narcissist से पूछें why didn't they stop abusing?
