Exercise AL NAJAH
๐ News: The Indian Army contingent recently departed for the fifth edition of
India-Oman Joint Military Exercise al Najah.
๐ Exercise AL NAJAH:
๐ Exercise AL NAJAH is a joint military exercise conducted between India and
Oman.
๐ It has been held biennially since 2015, alternating between the two countries.
๐Exercise Schedule:
๐The exercise is scheduled to take place from 13th to 26th September 2024 at the Rabkoot Training Area in Salalah, Oman.
๐The previous edition of the exercise was conducted at Mahajan in Rajasthan,
India.
๐Participants:
๐ The Indian Army contingent, comprising 60 personnel, is represented by a Battalion of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
๐Aim of the Exercise:
๐ The primary aim of the joint exercise is to enhance the military capabilities
of both nations in conducting counter-terrorism operations under Chapter VII
of the United Nations Charter.
๐The exercise will focus on operations in a desert environment.

As part of Operation Sadbhav, India has dispatched 35 tons of humanitarian aid to Vietnam, Myanmar, and Laos in response to the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi.
โ๏ธ The aid includes essentials such as water purification kits, containers, blankets, kitchen utensils, and solar lanterns to support the affected regions.
