🌴Reason for 7 August: Commemorates the Swadeshi Movement (7 August 1905) launched at Calcutta Town Hall against the Partition of Bengal.

1. National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP)

2. Raw Material Supply Scheme (RMSS)

🌿Implemented by the National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC).

🌿Provides quality yarn at Mill Gate Price along with transport subsidy.


3. Weavers' MUDRA Scheme

🍀Provides institutional credit to handloom weavers for looms and working capital.


4. Handloom Marketing Assistance (HMA)

🍀Organises exhibitions, fairs, buyer-seller meets, and online marketing support.


5. India Handloom Brand (IHB)

🪴Certifies premium-quality, authentic, and eco-friendly handloom products.


6. Handloom Mark Scheme

🍁Guarantees that the product is genuinely handwoven.


7. Yarn Supply Scheme

🌷Ensures timely and affordable yarn supply to weavers.


8. Comprehensive Handloom Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS)

🌼Develops mega handloom clusters with improved infrastructure and technology.


9. Handloom 4.0 Initiative (NEW)⭐⭐⭐

🍃Not a separate scheme, but a technology-driven initiative of the Ministry of Textiles (highlighted on National Handloom Day 2026).

🌿Integrates AI, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), electronic jacquards, smart looms, digital design tools, and e-commerce with traditional weaving.

🌿Promotes Handloom Technology Centres for innovation and training.
