When will we understand our own value?
So, recently, Prada, a very well-known Italian luxury fashion brand, showcased Indian Kolhapuri chappal-inspired footwear in their menswear collection and did not give credit to the original Indian artisans who created this traditional design.
And this same footwear is being priced at ₹1.2 lakh by Prada that we easily get in a few thousand.
Kolhapuri chappals are handmade sandals from Maharashtra that have been around since the 12th century and even got a GI tag in 2019.
This is another big example of India’s potential.
I am especially talking about the local art and artisans creating beautiful, extraordinary, meaningful, and sustainable crafts.
Believe me, our fashion, tradition, our food, our rituals, everything is coming back in trend, and we should not ignore it because we are the ORIGIN.
It is high time we stop UNDERESTIMATING our potential, which has the power to reach the global markets

This story is evergreen and remains legendary forever
In 1947, Yahya Khan and Gen. Sam Manekshaw were posted in Delhi. General Sam owned a red motorcycle at that time which Yahya Khan really loved. After partition, Yahya Khan decided to move to Pakistan and requested Gen. Manekshaw gave him that red motorcycle for 1000 rupees. Yahya Khan promised to send the money after reaching Pakistan. But after reaching there, he forgot his promise.
Years later, at the time of the 1971 war, both were the Chiefs of Army Staff of their respective countries. After winning the war, Sam jokingly said
The man who destroyed the idea of two nation theory by creating Bangladesh, FM Sam Manekshaw. The man who forced 93000 Pakistani soldiers to surrender. This remains the biggest surrender of all time.
Remembering Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw on his 17th death anniversary today.Legends live forever.
