India and US Armed Forces concluded comprehensive training phase in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh as part of Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025 🇮🇳 🇺🇸

Indian contingent were troops from the 8 Gorkha Infantry Battalion Group of the Amphibious Brigade, Bison Division, under Sudarshan Chakra Corps. They trained alongside personnel from the US Army’s 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment (“Bobcats”) of the 11th Airborne Division and the US Marine Corps’ 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion.

Big SC Ruling on Presidential Assent! 🇮🇳

The Supreme Court has set strict timelines for the President of India on Bills sent by Governors for assent:

✔️ 3-Month Deadline: The President must decide on such Bills within 3 months.

✔️ No More Absolute or Pocket Veto: The President can’t keep Bills pending indefinitely.

✔️States Can Take Legal Action: If the President delays or avoids decision, states can file a writ petition (mandamus) in court.

✔️ No Reasons = Bad Faith? If no reason is given for withholding assent, courts may presume lack of bona fides.

✔️ Strengthening federalism & ending arbitrary delays in law-making!
