38th National Games - Uttarakhand
โ๏ธ The 38th National Games were inaugurated on January 28, 2025, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Four demonstration sports โ Mallakhamb, Kalaripayattu, Rafting, and Yogasana โ will be showcased.
โ๏ธ The official mascot of the 38th National Games is Mouli, inspired by the state bird of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, Monal (Tragopan pheasant). The official torch is named Tejaswini.
โ๏ธ A total of 1,016 athletes from the host team and two athletes from Lakshadweep will participate. Athletics will have the highest number of participants.
โ๏ธ The first-ever National Games were held in 1924 in Lahore (then part of undivided India). Until 1938, they were known as the Indian Olympic Games.
โ๏ธ The previous edition of the National Games was hosted by Goa in 2023, where Maharashtra topped the medal tally with 80 gold, 69 silver, and 79 bronze medals, totaling 228 medals.
