Members of a family unknowingly consumed “Dry Ice” thinking its mouth freshner.
Their mouth started bleeding.
That’s when they knew something is not right.
Dry ice seems normal but because it’s so cold (at -78.5 degrees Celsius), it can cause severe skin injury if touched.
It can cause “Hypercapnia” (abnormally elevated carbon dioxide levels in the blood) if consumed.
Though it’s widely used because it’s easy to produce and undergoes “Sublimation” (converting directly to gas from solid), it does not leave watermarks or unnecessary liquid to carry upon getting used.
It is produced through “Deposition” (the transition in which gas transforms into solid).
Imp terms (Hypercapnia, Sublimation and Deposition).
