लड़कियां शिक्षित की जानी चाहिए,
इसीलिए नहीं कि वो मर्दों की बराबरी कर सकें, या नारीशक्ति के नाम पर बहस कर सकें, या मर्द–औरत के भेद को खत्म कर दें..
बल्कि इसीलिए की वो चौके से बाहर निकल कर देख सकें कि आखिर दुनिया कितनी खूबसूरत है..

मैं जब माँ को देखता हूँ तो इतना ही समझ पाता हूँ कि,
जिस शहर में रहते हुए उन्हें 3 दशक बीत गए, माँ आज भी उस शहर के कुछ ही कोनो को जानती है,
उन कुछ कोनों में 4 कोने तो मेरे घर के ही हैं..

माँ को लगता है कि शहर अब भी वैसा ही है, जैसा तब हुआ करता था, माँ को लगता है कि शहर में अब भी बैलगाड़ी से अनाज ढोया जाता है, भले ही पहले से कुछ कम पर अभी भी बैलगाड़ियां चलती तो होंगी..

माँ आज भी ट्रेन के सफर से कतराती है, कहती है कि 3rd AC में भी तो लोग बिना टिकट घुसते होंगे न..?
माँ को अब भी लगता है कि जात पात ईश्वर के बनाए हुए हैं.. माँ कर्मों से नहीं, जाती से आंकती हैं..वो भोली है..इंसान को इंसान के रूप में ही देखती है..पर बाहरी दुनिया से बिल्कुल अंजान..

माँ कभी रसोई से बाहर नहीं निकली, असल में निकलने ही नहीं दिया गया..या ये समझा ही नहीं गया कि वो इस काबिल है कि वो बाजार जाकर अपनी जरूरतों का समान स्वयं ला सकती है..

माहौल ऐसा बनाया गया कि माँ को भी लगता है कि वो बस रसोई के लिए ही बनी हैं, इसमें उनका कभी भी दोष नहीं रहा..ये समाज ही ऐसा है..औरतों पर जबरन थोपी गई ये प्रथाएं ऐसी ही हैं..इसीलिए अब हर एक लड़की को शिक्षा मिलनी चाहिए..

असल में अब जब मैं माँ को बूढ़ा होते देखता हूँ तो लगता है कि कितना कुछ था जो माँ को देखना चाहिए था, कितना कुछ था जो माँ को जानना चाहिए था..पर वो भोली ही रही, हमेशा उलझी रही इसमें की घर के हम मर्दों को आखिर क्या पसंद है..?

उलझी रही इस उधेड़बुन में की उसके बेटों का भविष्य कैसे संवारा जा सके, लगी रही की पिता जी की सब्जी ज्यादा तीखी न हो, बेटा मीठा खाता है..उसे हमेशा लगा की घर की ये चार दिवारी ही उसकी दुनिया हैं..ऐसा नहीं है कि ये दुनिया नहीं है, पर इसके इतर भी एक दुनिया है जो उन्हें देखना चाहिए था..

इसीलिए मुझे लगता है कि अब जंगल में रह रहे आदिवासियों से लेकर, 18 घर वाले गांव में भी शिक्षा के लिए स्कूल खोले जाने चाहिए..पहाड़ों में रह रहे लोगों तक शिक्षा पहुंचनी चाहिए..नदी किनारे बसे कुछ ही घर क्यों न हों, उनके लिए शिक्षा का पूरा इंतज़ाम किया जाना चाहिए..

ताकि लड़कियां ये समझ सकें कि दुनिया असल में कितनी बड़ी है, न कि रसोई घर का ये धुआं ही उनका साथी है..
