🌸🌿 Bathukamma, the floral festival of Telangana
Celebrated during Navratri, it honours the `life-giver’ Bathukamma.
In Telugu, ‘Bathukamma’ means ‘Mother Goddess Come Alive’ & Goddess
Maha Gauri -‘Life Giver’ is worshipped in the form of Bathukamma
Bathukamma is a beautiful flower stack, arranged with different unique seasonal flowers most of them with medicinal values, in seven concentric layers in the shape of temple gopuram
Women make small ‘Bathukammas’, form circles around them and sing folk songs every evening & immerse them in a nearby water pond.
