Fertility Crisis in India 🇮🇳 UNFPA's 2025 Report
India’s fertility rate has fallen to 1.9 below the replacement level of 2.1 meaning families are having fewer kids.The country still has a strong edge with 68% of people in working age which could boost the economy.
24% of Indians are under 14,while just 7% are 65+ though the elderly population is growing.
The UN says the real focus should be on giving people the freedom to choose their family size, not fearing falling birth rates.

Govt announces new temperature range for ACs
Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar has announced that new temperature range for air conditioners would be implemented soon. "The temperature standardisation for ACs will be set between 20°C and 28°C, meaning we won't be able to cool below 20°C or warm above 28°C. This is a first-of-its-kind experiment, aiming to standardise temperature settings," he added.

The new NCERT textbooks for class VII are out. Below are images of the integrated social science textbook (history, economics, geography etc). Note that the images are clear and in colour, the economics section teach ideas using modern examples, and history tries to focus on storytelling rather than dates. I am sure these too will be improved with iterations but we have broken away from old poverty and gratefully colonised narrative
