Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated three frontline naval combatants — two warships and a submarine — to the nation.
1. INS Surat (P15B Guided Missile Destroyer)
• Fourth and the final ship of its class
• 75% indigenous content
• First AI-enabled warship in Indian Navy
• Advanced weapon-sensor packages and network-centric capabilities
2. INS Nilgiri (P17A Stealth Frigate)
• First ship of its class
• Designed by Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau
• Enhanced survivability, seakeeping, and stealth features
• Equipped with BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles
3. INS Vaghsheer (P75 Scorpene Submarine)
• Sixth and final submarine of its class
• Collaboration with Naval Group of France
• Represents India’s growing submarine construction expertise
