The Diwari dance is a vibrant and joyful folk dance from the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh, India.

_Origin Story:_
The dance is inspired by the legend of Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan mountain to protect his people from a deluge. After saving them, Krishna danced with joy, and this dance is said to be a representation of that celebration.

_Performance:_

- Performed during Diwali (late October or early November)
- Dancers wear colorful costumes, often with traditional Bundelkhand attire
- Props used:
- Sticks (by most dancers)
- Peacock feathers (by the chief dancer and stuck in the half pants of other dancers)
- The dance involves energetic movements, twirling, and leaping
- Accompanied by traditional folk music and songs

_Interesting Fact:_
The use of peacock feathers in the dance is significant, as the peacock is considered a symbol of beauty, grace, and celebration in Indian culture.
