πNamed for its long, cylindrical abdomen that resembles a bamboo stalk.
πFound in the Agasthyamalai landscape of the Western Ghats.
πThe only other species in the same genus is the Malabar Bambootail (Melanoneurabilineata), native to the Coorg-Wayanad region of the Western Ghats.
