National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) declared the mica mines of Jharkhand ‘child labour-free’ at an event in Koderma, Jharkhand. NCPCR chairperson Priyank Kanoongo announced this as the first-ever successful endeavor to cleanse a supply chain of child labour in mica mining.

MoU with the Jharkhand state government, partnership with the NITI Aayog, local NGOs and NCPCR enabled the Child Labour Free Mica program to reach the farthest corners of the mica mining areas in Koderma.

- Two types of Plumes:
⭐ Mantle Plumes: These are upwellings of abnormally hot rock within the Earth's mantle. They can create hotspots, leading to volcanic islands.

⭐ Hydrothermal Plumes: These are caused by underwater volcanic activity, releasing minerals and heat into the ocean.

⭐ Mantle plumes are thought to form from the core-mantle boundary, where heat causes rock to melt and rise buoyantly.

⭐ Plumes can create volcanic island chains and hotspots, such as the Reunion hotspot & Hawaiian Islands. They also play a role in plate tectonics and the distribution of heat within the Earth.

⭐ Plumes are also known to create Gravitational anomalies, for example - Réunion hotspot in the Indian Ocean.
