Political system and bureaucratic reform.
I had high hopes for significant UPSC reforms after the recent elections. Unfortunately, the disappointing results have dashed these hopes. Achievin significant reforms demands a robust and cohesive majority in the Lok Sabha, crucial given the entrenched influence of the IAS lobby has within the entire system. This lobby not only influences policymaking but also operates behind the scenes, shaping governmental functions. While the government sets direction where the nation will head to and provides the leadership to do so, policymaking often remains within the purview of the IAS cabal. To challenge and overhaul this powerful lobby, a strong and decisive government with clear parliamentary backing was essential. Though, it is still possible, but historically, we have seen how effective coalition governments have been in bringing significant leveling reforms.
The IAS lobby wields enormous influence over policy decisions and administrative actions, often prioritizing their own interests over the public good. This has led to a bureaucratic inertia that stifles any innovation and reforms. The need for a robust government to confront and dismantle this power structure is paramount. Without the necessary majority, any attempts at reform are likely to be thwarted by the entrenched interests of the IAS. As ties run deep between the political systm and the lobby.
Moreover, the lack of reforms impacts not just the efficiency of the administration but also the aspirations of countless UPSC aspirants who hope for a more transparent, fair, and modern examination and recruitment process and to actually serve the nation instead being self obsessed like selected few. The current system, influenced by the IAS lobby, tends to perpetuate a status quo that benefits the few at the expense of the many. As we can see with the recent examples.
All in all, the hope for meaningful reforms in the UPSC has dimmed with the recent results. The need for a strong unit in the Lok Sabha was not just a political necessity but a prerequisite for challenging the entrenched IAS lobby and driving substantial changes. Without this, the prospects for any significant reforms remain absolutely bleak. Though we should expect some executive action soon considering the current dynamics. But will they be enough?

The United States Congress on June 12 passed the Promoting a Resolution to Tibet-China Dispute Act, better known as the Resolve Tibet Act. This act is the third notable piece of legislation that the US has taken regarding Tibet, following the Tibetan Policy Act or TPA (2002), and the Tibetan Policy & Support Act or the TPSA (2020).

Eventually, she will be able to prove herself to be from the Scheduled Caste community in the Supreme Court, if it ever reaches there, which it won't (even the Judiciary is prone to it). The system of reservation, while intended to provide opportunities to disadvantaged groups, has inadvertently created various loopholes or perhaps was a loophole in itself from the start. Although you can bring up the issue, it is unlikely that any significant action will be taken.
Since its inception, the reservation system was never purposed to achieve its true objective. This failure is evident not only in the UPSC exams but in other competitive exams as well. Individuals from affluent communities within the reserved categories, as well as some from the unreserved categories, have exploited the system. This widespread misuse has undermined the original goal of providing equitable opportunities to those truly in need of support.
Moreover, the reservation system will never fully succeed in its purpose of uplifting the downtrodden in the future as well, as it is impossible to quantify an individual's level of backwardness by any means other than their income level, so the misuse, and funnily enough, the income criteria too is susceptible to forgery. Without a more accurate measure of disadvantage, the system will forever remain flawed and susceptible to exploitation.

Internationalisation is a process that involves the use of a currency for more and more cross-border transactions. For the rupee, it means that more and more international payments start taking place in the Indian currency.

Puja Khedkar controversy: What are the rules governing civil servants?
IAS probationer Puja Khedkar is facing a DoPT inquiry. Actions of civil servants are governed mainly by the All India Services (Conduct) Rules, 1968, and the IAS (Probation) Rules, 1954. What do they say, and how does the OBC reservation apply?

She is being recalled merely to placate the masses. Once the situation settles, the IAS lobby will conduct its own "internal investigation" and likely acquit her of all charges. Everything will return to normal, and those internet stars, influencers and sensations who went into hiding will reemerge, acting as if nothing happened. She will be reinstated, and you'll only find out about this in some random local newspaper after a few months.
