Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have developed a 3D model of the lung to study tuberculosis (TB) infection.โ Key points:
This innovative model mimics the real lung environment, allowing researchers to better understand how TB spreads and test potential treatments.
๐ 3D vs. 2D: The new model is more accurate than previous 2D models, providing a realistic environment for studying TB.
๐ Collagen Power: Made of collagen (a key component of lung tissue), the model supports healthy cell growth for weeks.
๐ Drug Testing Success: Researchers have already successfully tested the TB drug pyrazinamide in this model.
๐ Future Hope: This technology could revolutionize TB research and lead to more effective treatments.

๐ India has made a contribution of 1.16 million dollars to the United Nations for the promotion of Hindi.
๐ India handed over the cheque to UNโs Department of Global Communications (DGC) for Hindi @ UNโ project to expand the use of Hindi in the world organisation.
๐ India partnered with the DGC since 2018 when the Hindi @ UN project was launched to enhance the public outreach of the United Nations in the Hindi language.
๐ The United Nations produces an audio Hindi news bulletin every week on matters relating to the world organisation.
๐ The global body also maintains X, Instagram and Facebook social media accounts in Hindi, in addition to a news website.
๐ There has been a push to add to the UNโs range of multilingualism, but the main constraint is finance, and that is why India is paying for the Hindi initiative.
