π India has made a contribution of 1.16 million dollars to the United Nations for the promotion of Hindi.
π India handed over the cheque to UNβs Department of Global Communications (DGC) for Hindi @ UNβ project to expand the use of Hindi in the world organisation.
π India partnered with the DGC since 2018 when the Hindi @ UN project was launched to enhance the public outreach of the United Nations in the Hindi language.
π The United Nations produces an audio Hindi news bulletin every week on matters relating to the world organisation.
π The global body also maintains X, Instagram and Facebook social media accounts in Hindi, in addition to a news website.
π There has been a push to add to the UNβs range of multilingualism, but the main constraint is finance, and that is why India is paying for the Hindi initiative.

When I was in ORN, there was one common thing among all coaching centers: IAS exam. "Best IAS coaching" was the famous tag. So, I asked a mentor at one coaching center out of curiosity, "IAS is just a post, not an exam. There are around 22+ posts in the UPSC CSE exam. Why does everyone mention 'best IAS coaching in Delhi,' 'IAS exam,' and only IAS? Many coaching institutes even add the word 'IAS' to their names: Pision IAS, Chorum IAS, Lonely IAS, etc. Why not IPS, IFS, IAAS, IRS?"
The mentor answered me, saying, "We write IAS because many parents come here to Delhi to get admission for their sons or daughters. They are not very educated and think IAS itself is an exam. In villages, they say, 'IAS ki taiyari kar raha hai,' so everyone thinks there is an IAS exam. They don't even know the full form of UPSC CSE; they only know IAS. So, we write IAS to attract them, and even we promise them that we will make their son or daughter an IAS officer in a year. Those mentors are very well trained for this and get a 5% commission on one admission, excluding their salary."
That's when I understood they were just trying to exploit people's ignorance. If a student passes the UPSC exam, people say, "Falane ka ladka IAS ban gaya," even if he doesn't get the IAS cadre. Still, people start calling him an IAS officer. Even 90% of aspirants don't know that there are 24 posts in the UPSC CSE exam, including Group A and Group B. That's how the business is running.
