✅ Born 1131 AD, Bagevadi (Karnataka); served as Karanika & later PM under King Bijjala at Kalyana.
✅ Opposed caste & gender discrimination, promoted dignity & inclusivity.
✅ Doctrinal founder of Lingayatism (Virashaivas) – distinct socio-religious system rooted in ethical living.
✅ Believed death unites devotee with Shiva → practised burial instead of cremation.
✅ Attained Samadhi at Kudalasangama (Bagalkot).
