Justice Sanjiv Khanna sworn in as 51st Chief Justice of India

President Droupadi Murmu on Monday administered the oath of office of the Chief Justice of India (CJI) to Sanjiv Khanna at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Justice Khanna has been sworn in as the 51st CJI, succeeding DY Chandrachud, who recommended Khanna as his successor.  At 64, Khanna will serve a six-month tenure as CJI and is expected to retire in May 2025.
