Kittur Rebellion (1824):
- British official John Thackery attacked Kittur in October 1824.
- Kittur forces killed St. John Thackeray and took two British officers hostage.
- British later captured Kittur Fort; Rani Channamma was imprisoned in Bailhongal Fort, where she died in 1829.
