🧑‍🎓 This digital initiative will provide high-quality training videos to millions of learners across India’s Industrial Training Institute (ITI) skill ecosystem, available in nine languages.

🧑‍🎓 The new channels—offered in English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada—are aimed at helping learners improve their technical skills through free, easy-to-access digital resources.

India Launches Malpe and Mulki Anti-Submarine Warfare Ships

⭐ The Indian Navy recently launched two new ships, named Malpe and Mulki. These are the fourth and fifth ships in a project to build eight Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Shallow Water Crafts (SWC).

⭐ The Ministry of Defence signed a contract with Cochin Shipyard Ltd on April 30, 2019, to build eight of these ships. This contract was made to promote the development of domestic shipbuilding in India, aligning with the country’s push for local manufacturing.

⭐ These ships are built with advanced technology, most of which is developed in India. They have special underwater sensors to detect submarines and are designed for anti-submarine operations in shallow coastal waters. Additionally, they can perform mine-laying and handle other low-intensity maritime operations.

Switzerland’s National Council has voted in favor of ending all Swiss funding (Khairat) of UNRWA due to its “incitement to terror and glorification of violence”

The motion will now have to pass the confederation’s upper house for the law to enter into force.

Meanwhile, India recently released the first installment of khairat of $2.5 million to UNRWA as a part of its annual contribution of $5 million for the financial year 2024-2025.

This brings India's total contributions to UNRWA to $39.5 million.

India began extending financial support for UNRWA in 2002.
