The Pragyan rover's revealed that the Moon's south polar region contains a significant amount of ferroan anorthosite, a type of rock that forms when a magma ocean cools & solidifies.
This discovery bolsters the idea that, in its early history, the Moon was covered by a global ocean of molten rock.
